Specialist care home Havenmere, in Hull, have recently announced plans to convert an old minibus into a mobile shop.
Speaking of Havenmere’s former minibus, home manager Diane Howden said: “We didn’t want the bus to go to waste – it still works, but no longer suits the needs of our service users. This is when we had the idea of a mobile stall; a way for us to interact with the community and raise money towards the service user fund.”
The maintenance team at Havenmere will be spending some time removing the seats and relevelling the floor of the bus making it suitable to build shelving and hanging space.
The bus – still yet to be named by service users – will be a Bric-a-Brac stall, selling items across the region or right from Havenmere’s car park.
More news will come from this across the summer – don’t forget to keep checking back for updates!
