Disabled adults in elderly care
Recent figures show that more than 3000 disabled adults in the UK are living in residential homes built for the elderly.
Local authorities have admitted some placements are made due to financial pressures, rising demand for services and not enough of the right services in the right areas. Exemplar’s 25 services across the East and West Midlands, Yorkshire, The Humber and the North West are built to provide the right nurse-led care and support for adults aged 18+ who are living with complex physical and behavioural needs.
During the assessment process, we work with the individual, their family and professionals providing their care to identify the home which will best care for their needs, their wellbeing and their quality of life.
We value the importance of placing service users with in the right community setting, so service users can interact with one another and develop their social and life skills.
Exemplar aims to make every day better for service users, in an outcome-focused environment where people are supported to increase their independence and meet personal goals.
