Navigating the Mind Field

On Thursday 12 October, Exemplar Health Care will be exhibiting at the ABI Solutions and Re:Cognition Health conference, Pullman International Hotel, London.

The conference will allow those attending to gain an understanding into traumatic brain injuries and how new scientific evidence is changing the understanding of brain injury and functional brain networks.

Brain injuries can affect anyone, at any time in their life. Once diagnosed, individuals can suffer with a range of emotions from depression, behavioural and social difficulties to cognitive impairments.

At Exemplar, we support individuals with both acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Our specialised services also accommodate individuals with spinal injuries who also required tracheostomy management and ventilated care. View our range of homes which offer this support here.

Achieving the best possible outcomes for service users and their families is just one way we can help to make every day better. Following a clinical assessment and placement into a home, our specialist teams work with service users to identify personal goals and encourage individuals to reach them. Building activities programs, care plans and outcomes around an individual allows them to work at their own pace, and to something with meaning – goals are different for everyone.

One service user came to us from hospital to recover from a brain injury – read Ingrid’s story here on her recovery, and how Exemplar were able to encourage her progress.

Individuals living with the life-changing effect of a brain injuries and stroke are supported by Exemplar’s specialist teams who work with a person to increase their functional abilities including movement, speech and emotional needs.
