Our Great British Care Awards Success!

Shelia Walker, a catering manager at Longley Park View, has become the first Exemplar Healthcare staff member to win a Great British Care Award!

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England that celebrate excellence across the care sector. The finals were held at ICC in Birmingham on the 20th May.

Exemplar Communication Director Tracy Clarkson said: “I’m sure you will all join me in congratulating not only the winners  but all who were shortlisted from over 2000 entries.”

Communications Director Tracy Clarkson decided to nominate all of the people who had nominated for the Making A Difference Awards held in 2014 for The Great British Care Awards 2015.

There are twenty-one awards categories which represent all areas of the social care sector, our staff were placed into the categories before they were judged. The awards cover frontline staff such as care workers and care managers to people who have made an impact in other ways such as training and innovation.

From the hundreds of people nominated by Exemplar fourteen members of staff were shortlisted for a regional award and all invited to their local, regional gala. Our regional gala winners included  Emma Armitage from Dearnevale, Suzie Loader from Havenmere, and Anne Henson from Eastlands.

The awards have received support from across the social care sector, including the Department of Health, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA), Care England,  the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), the National Skills Academy and Skills for Care.

Congratulations again to all our winners!
