Quarryfields celebrated the opening of their brand new flats for their Service Users in style.
The Major of Doncaster cut the ceremonial ribbon to the new home after Operations Director Amanda Lighton gave a speech to thank everyone who had helped the building process.
The flats will allow Service Users who don’t need 24hr care to have a bit more independence. The flats were designed with the Service Users in mind.
Training Administrator Lizzie Roe said: “The Flats were beautifully designed and the interior had been chosen by the service users who were moving into them”.
One of the service users Lewis, has a passion for boxing. So Exemplar invited Professional boxer Scott Jenkins to come and teach Lewis how to box.
Scott entertained the Service Users with sparing matches, training and him and Lewis even had a skip off.
Other events included a cake stall ran by the service users, a raffle and they also sold their Quarryfield tote bags.
Lizzie Roe said: “It was lovely to see so many happy residents joining in with the selling of raffle tickets, cakes and bags that were made specially, and even having a go on the karaoke! You could tell that a lot of thought and consideration had gone into the day and the effort from the staff was outstanding!”
