Fairwinds On Tour 2015 – Bakewell Show

Here’s what Fairwinds had to say about their latest day our – “Setting off early to miss some of the traffic helped us to a good start. Everyone was a little worried about the rainfall the day before but luckily for us the sunshine was out and the main areas weren’t too muddy.

A concession of £5 for the day proved worthwhile and parking was adjacent to the showground. We would have struggled if any service users were in wheelchairs and this will be considered in August for the Summer Show.

From Vintage Cars to the latest Ferrari, what amused our service users was the motorised lawnmower racing. They were definitely the fastest ones in the west and I think we even saw Stig from Top Gear.

Our highlight of the day was when one of our service users got to hold a Kestrel and even managed to give it a gentle stroke. Our service user explained that the Film ‘Kes’ was filmed in the village where he was born. Strolling through the bird avery we got to see the dazzling colours of the different birds of prey and parrots on show.

Off to the river area for a well deserved picnic made specially by our lovely Kitchen Staff. Finished off with a few games on the Funfair, FUN was definitely had by all!”
