Julie Shevells works within Support Services and took up Burlesque dancing after illness, she’s now entering competitions and raising money for charity with photo shoots for a calendar. Here’s what her instructor had to say about her –
“I am soooo proud to enter our Rotherham lady Julie (aka Miss La Bella Signora) for the Butterfly Burlesque competition. Julie’s story is a little different; she has suffered 3 attack of Bells Palsy, which robbed her of all her confidence. She started classes only 6 months ago as a way to rebuild this confidence. I have seen her emerge from a shy, introverted & apprehensive performer to one who can strut with the best of em!! She recently performed in front of hundreds of people – AND wanted to get back onstage straight after – she loved it that much! It’s been AMAZING to see her transformation. She now holds her head high!! She is a true & beautiful soul who is much loved by her Burlesque family in both Rotherham & Barnsley.
Julie adds – “I have met the most amazing friends there and I now eat sleep and breath burlesque….Ill try my best to not come to work in my outfits hahahah… ”
