Fairwinds at Chatsworth House

Service Users at Fairwinds recently visited Chatsworth House in Derbyshire calling at a quaint little coffee shop which has an outdoor heated swimming pool in Hathersage.

Staff and Service Users strolled around the grounds and up to the recently refurbished stables with cafés and gift shops. Service users enjoy choosing a gift for a family member or friend to proudly show them where they had been.

Around lunchtime we sat on a bench to enjoy the picnic overlooking the chatsworth estate with the animals roaming freely and the river running by. Whilst our service users chatted to the general public a gentleman advised us he is a gardener on the estate and was on a day off but decided to join us on the bench. With his knowledge of the gardens and the house he amazed our service users with his stories. Another gentleman in a suit also approached us to chat and he is one of the official guides. Again he was bombarded with questions by Fairwinds service users and was very happy to answer them.

The day was rounded off with an ice cream in the courtyard with fresh strawberries to celebrate a lovely day in the country.

Fairwinds staff and service users are planning to visit the outdoor heated swimming pool again during the summer months when the sun is out!
