Prior to Kerry coming to Havenmere she had worked as a paper girl in Immingham and taken a job cleaning at the local pub straight from college. She was quiet and shy, but instantly showed interest and empathy. As time went on and Kerry’s confidence grew it became clear that she was special, she carried out her work with enthusiasm, volunteered for anything that would help the people in her care and undertook any training that was available.

She is now team leader on her unit, she carried out all tasks with quiet dignity and professionalism. One day a week Kerry works with the physio as an assistant and her achievements, patience and sheer grit shine, people who come into the home unable to mobilise are now walking and Kerry’s enthusiasm and support have helped others to achieve through her achievement.

The award was presented to Kerry, by Anne Filson (Operations Manager) and Damian Collinge (Legal Director).
