Scotia Heights rated Good by CQC regulators

Exemplar Health Care’s specialist nursing home in Stoke-on-Trent, Scotia Heights, has been rated Good in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who highlighted the home’s impressive commitment to person-centred care, for encouraging people’s independence and promoting a good quality of life.
The CQC praised Scotia Heights, a specialist care home that provides care for 60 adults who live with very complex disabilities, for their dedication to respecting people’s choices and privacy, commitment to meeting people’s diverse needs and the hard work of the management, clinical and care teams.
The report particularly praised the home for their effective management of medication and care quality processes and noted that people were cared for in a caring, safe and well-led environment that promoted independence.
Scotia Heights provide specialist care for those living with neuro-disability, brain injuries and stroke, spinal injuries, mental health conditions, complex dementia and physical disabilities.

The CQC highlighted positive comments from friends, families and residents. People told the CQC that staff treated them in a kind and caring way. One person said, “The staff are gorgeous. They treat me so well, I like them all”. Another person said, “Staff are very kind and make sure I’m okay”.
