Exemplar Health Care colleagues win a share of £3600 in Christmas ‘In it to win it’ raffle

Exemplar Health Care colleagues who worked over the festive period were entered into a raffle draw to win a share of £3600. And we’re delighted to share the 2020 winners.
Each year, Exemplar Health Care runs the ‘In it to win it’ competition which gives colleagues a raffle ticket for each shift that they work over the Christmas and New Year period.
All of our care home colleagues are eligible to take part, and this year we issued an amazing 36,500 raffle tickets.
Each raffle ticket gives colleagues the chance to win a share of £3600, including three grand prizes of £1000, £500 and £250. One colleague from each home also wins a cash prize in the random draw.
The competition aims to boost morale over the Christmas period, say thank you to our colleagues, and improve attendance rates.
Selina Wall, Regional Director of Operations, shares: “We were thrilled to run the ‘In it to win it’ competition again in 2020, especially after the challenging year that our colleagues faced.
“We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our colleagues who worked over the festive period. Christmas and New Year was certainly very different for our residents this year, but with the dedication and kindness of our colleagues, we made it an extra special one.”
First prize: meet Bill
We’re delighted to share that the winner of this year’s first prize was Bill, who works in the Maintenance Team at our Kavanagh Place care home in Kirkdale, Liverpoool.
Bill shares: “I was on call over Christmas and New Year, and I was called in to fix a major leak on a burst pipe.
“Winning this prize means that I can take my family on a well-deserved holiday when it’s safe to do so. In the meantime, I’ll most likely spend some of it on home improvements.
“I’d like to give a special mention to Julie Scotland for working late to enter everyone’s raffle tickets into the draw!”
Second prize: meet Tracey
Bill was closely followed by Tracey, Domestic Assistant at our Copperfields care home in Leeds, who won the second grand prize.
Tracey has worked at the home for just over a year, and shares how the competition is just one of the ways that she feels valued by her employer.
“I immediately thought ‘wow’ having never won anything before. I felt really valued and appreciated by Exemplar Health Care - nowhere else would have done this. Now I can add it to a holiday… once we get past covid!
“I enjoy working for Exemplar Health Care, not only looking after and helping service users, but colleagues are really friendly and happy. I enjoy my days even though it is work!
“Copperfields is just such a brilliant place to work. I would never have been thought of this way anywhere else I have worked. I really appreciated the fact that I have won this prize and loved working at Christmas with everyone.”
