Exemplar Health Care’s Dearnevale care home awarded ‘Top 20 Care Home’ award in Yorkshire and Humber

Dearnevale care home in Grimethorpe, near Barnsley, has been awarded the ‘Top 20 Care Home’ award in Yorkshire and Humber by carehome.co.uk, the UK’s number on care home reviews and listing websites.

The annual Care Home Awards 2021 recognises 20 of the top rated care homes in each region of the UK based on reviews from residents/service users and their family/friends.

Dearnevale, one of nine Exemplar Health Care’s South Yorkshire care homes, has received this award for the fourth year running, following a string of positive reviews about the care home in Grimethorpe.

Dearnevale, rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), is a 40-bed complex needs care home in Grimethorpe, Barnsley, which supports people living with complex physical disabilities, neuro-disabilities, high dependency nursing needs and long term conditions.

The home also has a four-bed OneCare service which provides specialist nursing care in a domestic living environment, ideal for those who benefit from living alone.

My dad has been a resident for nine years and in all that time we have been made very welcome whenever we come to visit, and the care my dad receives is excellent, and he is always happy when we visit,” and “My sister has lived at Dearnevale for 2 years now and she is so happy. The whole caring team make her life so full of laughter. She feels like she’s got an extended family, they take such good care of her.”
