#CharityTuesday – fundraising celebration at Exemplar Health Care

22 January 2019

As well as providing high-quality, specialist nurse-led care for the people who live in our homes, both Exemplar Health Care’s residents and team members are committed to raising money and awareness for charities that are mean something to them.

To celebrate, #CharityTuesday, we have put together some of the charity highlights across our homes during the last 12 months.

Our specialist care homes across Yorkshire, East and West Midlands and the North West have taken part in many fundraising initiatives, including raising money and awareness for national charity, Macmillan Cancer Care.

Exemplar Health Care’s Chief Executive Euan Craig, ‘Braved The Shave’ in a sponsored head shave and raised an incredible £2362 for Macmillan.

Our Sutton-in-Ashfield home, Meadowcroft, raised a fantastic £155 during their Macmillan Coffee Morning, Leeds home Ravensdale raised £112, our Barnsley home Dearnevale joined in the fun and saw the care team and service users making cakes to raise £74. The awareness day also saw Exemplar Health Care’s Fairburn ValeWillowbeck and Maypole raise money.

To raise money for national charity Children In Need, Susan, a resident at Sutton-in-Ashfield home Eastlands, completed a sponsored walk around her unit, every single day of November to raise money.

Sheffield home, Longley Park View, got behind the charity pledge and saw their activities co-ordinator, Paul, commit to a leg wax in exchange for donations. Paul’s brave leg wax brought in a fantastic £100.

The team at Barnsley home Dearnevale held a special pyjama themed day and residents at Sheffield home Willowbeck designed their own t-shirts which were sold to raise money.
