Student placement opportunities

Our structured placements take place in community-based care homes, supporting adults living with a range of complex health and care needs.

As a national provider, we may also be able to offer experience in other homes where you have a particular area of interest or learning need.

Opportunities are available across adult, mental health, learning disability, and dual-field nursing, as well as for nursing associates and allied health students.

Professional support for students

Our dedicated Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) works with Higher Education Institutions and care home teams to support students and educators throughout each placement.

We also provide weekly Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor (PSPA) training, helping nursing educators stay confident and aligned with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards.

My placement gave me hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of compassionate care.

"The supportive team and meaningful interactions helped me grow personally and professionally.

"I’d highly recommend this placement to anyone."

Student induction

Each student receives an induction to Exemplar Health Care, the people we support, and our approach to person-centred care, helping them feel welcomed and confident from day one.

Our student welcome resources also explore careers in social care, challenge common misconceptions about the sector, and highlight the opportunities available.

Information for Higher Education Institutions

We work with universities and Higher Education Institutions to provide placements for student nurses, nursing associates, and allied health students.

Working collaboratively, we ensure placements meet learning needs and academic requirements while giving students valuable experience of complex care.

We welcome new partnerships and opportunities to expand placements for the future health and social care workforce.
