Join us as a Laundry Assistant at Meadowcroft care home in Sutton-in-Ashfield. In this role, you’ll provide an in-house laundry service for the people who live in our home. 

 

As part of our Housekeeping Team, you’ll ensure that people have clean clothing and bed linen by providing an efficient laundry service which involves sorting, washing, drying and ironing.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference every day. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring that people feel comfortable and at home.

About the role

Our Laundry Assistants ensure that people have clean and fresh clothing and linen.

 

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • providing an in-house laundry service ensuring that items in the laundry are cared for and not lost or damaged on your shift
  • sorting, washing, drying and ironing clothing and linen
  • operating all laundry equipment in line with manufacturer’s instructions
  • providing a repair service for damaged and worn articles of clothing, linen and household furnishings
  • establishing and maintaining systems for distributing and controlling people’s personal clothing, including labelling
  • building trust and promoting choice, dignity and independence.

You’ll put our people at the heart of everything you do – whether that’s handwashing woolly jumpers or machine-washing new bedding. We can guarantee that whatever you bring to the role, you’ll see great rewards.

Meadowcroft is a specialist care service that supports 24 adults living with complex mental health conditions and behaviours of concern.

We support people to live their best lives by promoting independence, building life skills and engaging in the local community.

You’ll usually work on one of our small units so you can get to know the people you support and develop the clinical skills to support their complex needs.
