About Yarningdale:
 
Yarningdale supports 20 adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities. 
 

Located in Ripley, Codnor and close to Belper and Heanor, Yarningdale is a specialist nursing home with two units called Wren and Robin, each with ten bedrooms. Yarningdale provides care for adults with complex needs including neuro-disabilities, brain injury, stroke, mental ill-health and dementia.

The home has two ten-bed units, which gives it a homely and welcoming feel. Yarningdale also has an OneCare service which provides nursing care in a domestic environment, for those whose needs require they live alone.
 
In this role, you’ll usually work in the same team and with the same service users to ensure continuity of care. This means that you’ll see the difference you make each and every day. 
 
Yarningdale is rated ‘Good’ with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and has an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 on carehome.co.uk.

About the Role:
 
Your day-to-day duties will include:
 
 - Providing personal care such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and on occasion, assisting with meal times
 - Promote independence, dignity, respect and choice across service users
 - Support social and recreational activities; both in and out the home individually, or as part of a group
 - Maintain care records; recording observations, activities and assessments
 - On occasion, welcome and train new members of your care team

About You:
 
As a Health Care Assistant, you’ll provide person-centred care to support our service users to maximise their independence and live their best life. 
 
Your role will involve supporting people with all aspects of their day-to-day living, which may include taking up new hobbies, meeting friends, getting involved in social activities, going to the gym or looking their best! 
 
The home has higher than average staffing levels compared to other care providers, which gives you more time to spend with the people you support – there’ll usually be up to five-six colleagues on each unit, supporting ten service users. 
 
This means that being a Health Care Assistant is extremely rewarding. Many of our colleagues form long-lasting and life-enriching connections with the people they support.
