Shaping our care together

Service User Council

The people who live in our homes know better than anyone what great care should look and feel like.

That’s why our Service User Ambassadors come together to share ideas, speak up about what matters, and help make things better across Exemplar Health Care.

Council meetings in 2025/26

What's it all about?

Our Ambassadors meet regularly to talk about life in our homes – what’s working well, what could be better, and the things that matter to them.

They share ideas, get involved in projects, and work with colleagues to help make positive changes.

Meet some of our Ambassadors

Every Ambassador brings their own experiences, ideas, and personality to the role. Meet some of them and discover what being an Ambassador means to them.

What’s it like being an Ambassador?

Meeting people, sharing ideas, speaking up, trying new things – and having fun along the way.

Hear what our Ambassadors have to say about the role.

In Andy’s words? “Brilliant!”

I really thought life wasn’t going to get any better than watching TV in my room.

Being an Ambassador has really built my confidence. I feel useful again, and like we’re making a difference.”

What our Ambassadors have been up to

From speaking on stage and teaching future nurses to learning new skills and creating their own newsletter, our Ambassadors get involved in all sorts of things.

Being an Ambassador helps give other people a voice, as well as myself. We can spot the little things that could be better and help make changes.

It gives me a purpose.”
