About Exemplar Health Care
At Exemplar Health Care, our mission is to make ‘every day better’ for adults living with complex needs.
Established in 1999, we’ve developed a range of health and care services for adults living with complex needs arising from dementia, learning disabilities, neuro-disabilities including brain injuries, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
Through our values of fun, integrity, success, responsiveness and teamwork, we’re proud of the outcomes we enable people to achieve.
At Exemplar Health Care, our care is different. Our 50+ care homes provide welcoming and supportive Nurse-led environments for those whose needs are often ‘too complex’ for mainstream care providers and who may have experienced one or more failed placements.
The people we support would often be in a hospital or higher acuity setting if not placed with us. Our care enables them to stay in the community and reduces hospital and secure facility admission.
We’re opening new homes over the coming years to bring our much-needed services to more locations.

Our highly trained team of 5000 colleagues support over 1000 people across 50+ services, living with over 50 different diagnoses including:

Steve joined Exemplar Health Care as CEO in November 2021. Steve brings with him significant healthcare experience, with several senior roles across multi-site healthcare settings, most recently as Managing Director of {my}dentist.
Our history
Exemplar Health Care has over 25 years’ experience of providing exceptional nursing care for adults living with complex and high acuity needs. We started our journey as a training company and have grown into one of the country’s leading complex care providers.
From opening our first home in 2003, we're proud to have over 50 care homes across England which enable people to access nursing care for their complex needs, in a community-based setting that's close to their loved ones.
