Lakeview is a specialist care home in Leigh, Wigan, for adults living with complex and high acuity needs.
Lakeview complex needs care home specialises in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia, neuro-disabilities including Huntington’s disease, and physical disabilities.
Our Nurse-led team has the skills and expertise to support people with complex needs including prolonged disorders of consciousness and behaviours of concern, and those who require tracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feeding tubes.
We support people on their rehabilitation journey from hospital or living in a secure setting to community-based living. We also provide long term support for people living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.

We provide a supportive environment at Lakeview. People get the specialist nursing care they need, and are able to stay closer to their loved ones.
Lakeview has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub and a large accessible garden.
- Firetree Unit

Firetree Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia and physical disabilities. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as female.
- Bridgewater Unit

Bridgewater Unit supports up to ten adults living with dementia. The Bridgewater Team are trained to support people who display behaviours of concern. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as male.
- Pennington Unit

Pennington Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs and neurological conditions such as Huntington’s disease. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as male.
The home is close to local amenities and transport links so that people can maintain their community connections.

Complex care at Lakeview
As a specialist care home, Lakeview has an excellent track record of supporting adults whose placements have previously failed. Our high staffing levels allow us to build trust and work at the pace of the individual, which leads to improved person-centred and longer-term outcomes.
Many of the people we support at Lakeview are deemed to display behaviours that are ‘too complex’ for mainstream nursing and care providers.
For many of our service users, we’re successful in achieving a significant reduction in behaviours of concern and use of observations within 12 weeks of stay.
