Copperfield complex needs care home in Cross Green, Leeds, specialises in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, dementia and neuro-disabilities.
Our Nurse-led team has the skills and expertise to support people with complex needs including prolonged disorders of consciousness and behaviours of concern, and those who require tracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feeding tubes.
We support people on their rehabilitation journey from hospital or living in a secure setting to community-based living. We also provide long term support for people living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.

We provide a supportive environment at Copperfields. People get the specialist nursing care they need, and are able to stay closer to their loved ones.
Copperfields has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. The home has communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub with pool table and a large garden.
- Sapphire Unit

Sapphire Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex health needs and mixed diagnoses, including neuro-disabilities, brain injuries and physical disabilities. The Sapphire Team is trained to support people who have complex nursing needs.
- Emerald Unit

Emerald Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex dementia, including those who display behaviours of concern.
- Ruby Unit

Ruby Unit supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs, including those who have a personality disorder and/or display behaviours of concern. The unit is exclusively for people who identify as male.
The home is close to local amenities and transport links so that people can maintain their community connections.

Complex care at Copperfields
As a specialist care home, Copperfields has an excellent track record of supporting adults whose placements have previously failed. Our high staffing levels allow us to build trust and work at the pace of the individual, which leads to improved person-centred and longer-term outcomes.
Many of the people we support at Copperfields are deemed to display behaviours that are ‘too complex’ for mainstream nursing and care providers.
For many of our service users, we’re successful in achieving a significant reduction in behaviours of concern and use of observations within 12 weeks of stay.
