A Doncaster Under 7s football team, the Adwick Rangers, have received a brand new home and away kit – thanks to the sponsorship of The Platform – a coffee shop ran by some the residents of Quarryfields.

The Platform is a unique project that has seen Quarryfields residents create a coffee shop in a former unused sandwich shop.

The new football strip, blue and white hoops for the home colours and red for the away kit, dons The Platform’s logo in the centre of the shirt.

The junior team play in the Doncaster and District Junior Sunday Football League and take part in fixtures every Sunday morning both home and away around the Doncaster, Dearne Valley and North Bassettlaw region.

The sponsorship comes ahead of a new partnership between the club and The Platform as the two groups are set to support each other at charity events throughout 2019.

To show their support, residents from The Platform alongside members of the Quarryfields team went along to Adwick Ranger’s first game in their new kits.

Jonathan Schofield, Head Coach at Adwick Rangers, said: “We are so grateful for the sponsorship from The Platform – the kits look great and it’s so nice for our players to look and feel the part at our games.

“The Platform are a fantastic organisation and it is great to have their support. The residents from Quarryfields even came to support us on a cold Sunday morning. It’s support like this that means so much to our young players and I know they will wear the logo with pride at every single fixture, both home and away.”

Heather Johnson, Education Facilitator and The Platform project lead at Quarryfields, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting the Adwick Rangers and it means a lot to us to help out a local team.

“The logo looks great and we are proud to be supporting the team. We have all worked so hard on The Platform over the last year and we are all really proud of this new partnership.”
