New Year, new me with Exemplar Health Care

Resident with Carer

At Exemplar Health Care, daily life is all about choice. Together with our residents, loved ones and professionals, we design a care plan that’s tailored to individual needs and goals that enables people to live life exactly as they choose.

Smashing goals

Our mission is to make every day better for the people we support, whatever that looks like to them. We support people to achieve their goals, no matter how big or small.

Some of our residents like to set individual goals to work towards, such as John and Tony at our Ribble View care home in Preston, Lancashire.

John decided that he wanted to do more exercise in order to lose some weight. Working together with John, he began to join in more activities and group exercises. He also teamed up with the home’s Catering Manager, who encouraged John to make healthier food choices.

Exercising the fun way

To kick off 2023, some of our residents have been taking part in exercise classes, put on by our in-house Activities and Therapy Teams’.

Our Willowbeck care home in Sheffield have been following some virtual exercise classes after our resident Chip told us he wanted to work off all the biscuits that they enjoyed over Christmas!

They also hold regular fitness classes, which can range from boxing to yoga. The Activities Team like to make sure that there’s something for everyone to join in with and the class is for all residents, regardless of their ability.

Dancing the days away

One of our resident’s favourite ways to get their daily exercise is by dancing.

Our Parkside care home in Tipton have recently started Zumba lessons with both residents and colleagues joining in on the fun.

Tom, a resident from our Quarryfields learning disability service in Doncaster, enjoys attending a weekly dance class at DICE Enterprise where he can see all his friends and listen to his favourite music.

Residents from other homes enjoy attending fitness classes, going to the gym and swimming in their local communities with support from our Health Care Assistants and Activities Teams.
